A psychological assessment evaluates thinking, learning and behaviour. The assessment may include interviews, observation, testing and consultation with other professionals. The aim of a psychological assessment is to diagnose or characterise a persons behaviour, way of thinking or ability. A psychological assessment may result in a diagnosis of a number of disorders or/and mental illness.
